Donald Trump got in a lot of zingers tonight at the Al Smith Dinner, and even got a little self-deprecating, but towards the latter half of his speech he ended up getting booed over some of his edgier jokes against Hillary Clinton.
He jokingly said that last night at the debate, Clinton told him “Pardon me” and he said he responded, “Let me talk to you about that after I get into office.”
He also brought up that “nasty woman” remark from last night and said that after listening to her “rattle on and on and on,” “I don’t think so badly of Rosie O’Donnell anymore.”
Trump got a big laugh when he made a joke about his wife plagiarizing Melania Trump, but then things went downhill fast.
He said, “Hillary is so corrupt she got kicked off the Watergate commission. How corrupt do you have to be to get kicked off the Watergate commission?” This line got big boos.
And it was just the first of many times Trump got booed tonight, including when he said Clinton was sitting there “pretending not to hate Catholics.”
